I know I haven't posted on here...in...forever. Slacking, I know.
Maeve is great, yada yada yada...

Alright...all the videos are now uploaded in "Home Movies" as well the April newsletter from Sean's boat...check out the pictures, he is in one!

This was taken in the Tacoma Children's Museum. We took her there on Saturday, it was really small but she seemed to have a good time. We are taking her to the Seattle Children's Museum later today...well...Sunday. I don't know what the time stamp says on this post.

Bloomers!

So I was going to post about my shirt that I made a couple days ago...but I tried it on again..and decided that it would look much better as a pair of bloomers for Maeve.
So...I cut it up and turned it into bloomers! Now she has matching bloomers to go with the skirt I made for her.

So cute right!
I'll take a picture of her in the skirt and bloomers tomorrow...er...later. Its already morning. lol.
Im going to go get some sleep now. Cannot wait for Sean to come home so I can get on a normal sleep schedule. This up all night thing is getting pretty old!

Chicken Fried Rice ^_^

For dinner tonight Maeve and I decided on yet another asian dish....we eat a lot of asian food in this house...which is only now becoming apparent to me. lol (Stir fry, orange chicken..fried rice..) Its either asian or barbecue. Anyway. There were some requests on Facebook, that if dinner tonight turned out good that I should share the recipe. So...here goes..because dinner was AMAZING. I never really used to like fried rice, I didn't like the egg. I always would try to pick the tiny pieces of egg out and then gave up because that just took forever. Since Maeve was born though my taste for eggs has returned. I ate scrambled eggs for breakfast, lunch and dinner when we came home from the hospital. Yum. Alright, I'll shut up...recipe!!

Chicken Fried Rice

Ingredients
1lb Chicken breast
1/2 cup sliced green onion
1/4 cup chopped bell pepper
1 clove of garlic, crushed
1/2 teaspoon of ground ginger
3 cups of long grain rice, cooked and chilled
2 tablespoons of soy sauce
2 large eggs
Stir fry sauce (optional)

Note:  Alright so I decided to make this on a whim tonight...I didn't have an onions in the house, and I didn't have any ground ginger. So I didn't use them. It still tasted amazing though. The stir fry sauce was not on the original recipe, but everything tastes good with stir fry sauce, so I added some. I also used and entire green pepper, not just 1/4 cup. Maeve really likes peppers so it won't go to waste.

Alright...

Step 1: Find the recipe. (No...it's not in that book Maeve)

Step 2: Put your baby on your back. (Go beco go!)

Step 3: Add rice and water to rice cooker and turn it on. (If you don't have a rice cooker....go buy one. It will make your life so much easier. If you don't want to buy one...then get a pot of water and cook your rice.)

Step 4: Cut chicken breast. (You can cut to strips or chunks. I like nugget sized chicken personally.)

Step 5: Cut pepper and onion and crush garlic. (I didn't have an onion, remember)

(well this looks pleasantly like something disgusting!)

Step 6: Heat about 2 tbsp of oil in a large skillet or wok.

Step 7: Cook chicken on medium high heat until cooked through.

Step 8: Add 2 eggs to the bowl...

Step 9: ...and scramble.

Step 10: Once chicken is cooked, remove from skillet and set aside.

Step 11: Add pepper and onion to skillet, cook until crisp and tender.

Step 12: Add garlic to skillet, cook and stir for 30 seconds longer. (I also added in about a teaspoon of butter at this step. Totally optional though.)

Step 13: Add cooked/chilled rice and soy sauce to skillet. (My rice was not chilled and I used a heck of a lot more than 2 tbsp of soy sauce)

Step 14: Blend all together, coating all rice with soy sauce.

Step 15: Pour in scrambled eggs, mix together and cook until set.

Step 16: Return chicken to the skillet and cook until warm. (This is also where I added my stir fry sauce...and more soy sauce.)

Step 17: Serve!

Step 18: Take lots of pictures of an adorable baby trying to eat rice.

Enjoy!

How freakin' cute!

I had some extra fabric from a shirt that I had made for myself...(I'll post about that monstrosity later)...and I decided to make a skirt for Maeve. I bought 2 yards of this fabric for that reason. I planned on making her a dress but I used more fabric than I planned on for my shirt. Anyway....
I made her a skirt tonight and it is so freakin' cute!

Check it out!

I love it!...and I think Maeve does too!

I used the skirt tutorial from Dana @ MADE

Oh no!

Maeve has learned how to climb the steps. I was sitting with her in the kitchen when she decided to crawl over to the stairs. I didn't think she knew what to do yet...but she went right up to the landing.
She won't go any further than the landing though, I guess she feels like it is too steep...which I'm totally fine with. She can keep her butt on ground level. lol. I posted a video in the "Home Movies" page.

Enjoy

Maeve meets the Bunny!

I took Maeve to see the Easter Bunny today! She did great! She smiled real big, after the Easter Bunny pulled her hand out of her mouth anyway. lol. She is so stinkin' cute I can't take it!

Here's my beauty queen!  (If I don't stop calling her that I'm going to have to put her in pageants lol)

Maeve's Bedroom!

As most of everyone knew, not having a bedroom set up for Maeve was one of the hardest parts of living in Jersey for me. As much as I wanted to have my own house again, I wanted Maeve to have her own bedroom even more. This was the very 1st room we set up when we moved in. Literally...we got the keys on a Friday and Sean painted her room that night. lol. I've been meaning to take this pictures for a long time since this room has been on the only room done since we moved in...but I'm lazy. Anyway, I finally took them. I love her room...my favorite room in the house!

Here you go!

My Sewing Room!

Well today is Thursday which means Sewing/Computer room is on the cleaning schedule. Since I haven't posted any pictures of the house yet and now that everything is unpacked and put away, I thought I would add some pictures when I finished tidying up!

Here ya go!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Normally every year I put up a major front about this holiday and refuse to wear anything with shamrocks or green. I'm Italian and this is a "medigan" holiday. BUT...this year, I have the most Irish daughter every created. Okay, she is only lacking red hair, but with a name like Maeve Caydence Monaghan...she's pretty damn Irish. I bought her a cute little dress and made her a cute little head band and then realized St. Patties day was on a Saturday and I had no where to go to show off her outfit! But....last night we were invited to a party for the wives of Sean's ship. Woo. I said we'd go and off we went! I got Maeve all dressed up in her outfit and I used some of the scraps from her hair bows and I braided myself a headband...its kinda cute actually, I think I'm going to make more of them...just not in shamrocks.
Anyway. Here we are right before leaving  to go to the party.

You really can't see how cute her dress is. She had bloomers that go with it, that had a big shamrock on the butt! Anyway, one of the other wives at the party was taking pictures and she said she would put them on Facebook so let's hope she does because her pictures were cute. The party was fun though. It was nice meeting some of the other wives and getting to know them a little bit. A few of them have baby's about Maeve's age too. It will be nice this time at the homecoming, I won't be standing there by myself! At least now I've met some people, I can talk to them while we are waiting for the boat to pull in and then next time Sean is underway again I will have other people to talk to...who are in the same boat...cheesey pun intended. lol. Alright well I am going to leave this off here. I am incredibly exhausted, Maeve barely slept all night long and while she is asleep right now, I can't go to bed yet. I'll be up all night if I try to sleep now. If I get more pictures from the party today I'll come back and post them!

Wow...way to go capital 1

So...we made a payment on our Capital 1 credit card back in December. Well...we thought we did. Apparently the payment on the account was linked to our old debit cards. We had ordered new cards and forgot to change it on our account. So the card was placed on restriction. I have since paid the balance off and I wanted to use the card tonight to buy some stuff for Maeve's party. We were told when the balance was paid, the account would become unrestricted. Untrue apparently.
So I signed into our online account access and tried to fix the problem. I called the support number, they are closed. So I tried the online chat. While I was waiting for a chat representative I attempted to add my name as an authorized user because I know they wouldn't talk to me without it.
It comes up with an error message that because the account is restricted they cannot add additional users at this time. Wonderful. So I finally get on the chat and explain our situation. At first he flat out refuses to talk to me, so I threw a little hissy fit and then he asked for all the account information. I provide him with all the account information, thinking he is going to help me now, he comes back with another automated message that since I am not the authorized user, he can't help me. So Sean gets on the chat and tells his rep that he wants to add me as a user. The man directs him to a screen to add me and the same error message appears. Sean tries to tell the guy what happened and all he can say is that unless I am an authorized user, they can't help me. Strike 2. Back to my idiot, I explain what is going on. At this time I have no told him 3 times that Sean is currently talking to another rep on chat and he is trying to add me as an authorized user. This is how the last part of our conversation played out....

Shilton: Once's your added as an authorized user please contact we so that we will be able to assist you with the issue.
Shilton: I am sorry as you are not an account holder, we'll not be able to provide you any kind of information.
Shilton: I would suggest you to contact your husband and and have him chat with us and add you as an authorized user.
Shilton: So we would be able to provide you information.
you: he is already doing that!
Shilton: Is there anything else I can help you with today?
Shilton: Great.
you: he keeps getting the same exact error message we have been getting for months!
you: why can't anyone help us with that? it is not alloying us to add me to the account. one of the exact reasons we are in the situation to begin with!
Shilton: I am sorry, inform your husband to chat with us.
you: OMG are you daft?!
Shilton: So we'll be able to provide you the information.
you: quit your job. seriously. just quit.
Shilton: I am sorry.
you: my husband is already talking to your chat assholes
you: they are not helping him either!
Shilton: Is there anything else I can help you with today?
you: jump off a building.
you: preferably a tall one.

He came back with another automated response that such language was considered offensive and if it happened again he would have to end our chat (oh please do!). Then he told me again that because I am not an account holder he couldn't help me. I then asked him for his employee ID number. He provided it and I said thank you, now I will have that while I am filing my complaint. He ended with Is there anything else I can help you with today?

OMG. Capital 1= horrible customer service. I've found Peggy!

Getting everything ready

I've started to get everything ready for Maeve's birthday party. Some decorations are picked up, some are planned but need to be made. I've picked out all the plates/forts/cups and what not. I'm pretty sure we've planned out all the food, although I do have one other option I need to look into. I have the cake planned out and the other deserts. I've got the party favors planned out, just need to start working on them. Maeve's dress is complete, along with matching bloomers & now I've also finished her bib to match her dress. I need to do her birthday hat, but I'm still exploring ways to make that.
Thanks to my friend Courtney I've got a pack&play and a high chair in Jersey that we can use, so I don't have to travel with ours and my mom is going to get a stroller and some toys for the baby so that is another thing I don't have to worry about packing. I need to still buy us some suitcases because we have none. Sean's only good suitcase broke before he left for California and I told my parents they could go ahead and sell my old ones when they had the yard sale. Just about everything is coming together for the party...except a car. It is too expensive for us to rent a car, buy plane tickets and throw a party of the century, so we don't have a car. We are going to be car moochers for the week we are there. I'm hoping to use my grandfather's extra car but my dad said last time he was there that it wasn't working. So we'll see. If worst comes to worst I know my mom will let us use her van, we would just need to drive her to work.
So what else is going on lately, lets see...Maeve has yet another cold...awesome. I haven't caught it yet, but I'm sure I will. Sean will be home *soon* and I'm getting excited. I guess that is all, its really boring. Maeve needs to hurry up and reach a new milestone so I have something new to write about. :)
Anyway, here is a picture of her bib.

Tickets are purchased

Well I finally did it....I bought our plane tickets. I've been putting it off because I didn't want to but I knew if I didn't the money would have gotten spent on other things...like our bills. *hangs head*
Can't Jersey just come to us? $1000 in plane tickets...now to tack on the money we have to spend on the party...I'm feeling pretty miserable right now. This is the last party we will be having in Jersey. Maeve lives in Washington. Her house and home is in Federal Way. Her parties will take place in her living room at 1300 SW Campus from now on. Ugh. Stupid Jersey.
That is all. Just my depressing rant for the evening. I'm going to bed now before I go look at the bank account and see how much money I just spent.

Lookie!

Alright so it has been a while since I've updated and I'm not sure I have a good reason other than the fact that our lives are boring right now! Maeve has been standing up on everything and she's also been getting very clumsy. She falls down constantly and a few days ago she got into a fight with the toaster. She was trying to pull herself up on a shelf in our kitchen when she slipped and went face first into it, her forehead going right into the toaster. She's got a bit of a bruise on her head now. Poor baby. Really though, that has been all that has been going on. So since it has been kinda dull I have had some time to sew.
So happy to sew something...so I made Maeve a dress! It will be the dress she wears on her 1st Birthday. I have been debating whether I wanted to keep this dress a surprise or not...but I can't. I want to show it off because I love it. It matches with her party theme but I'm not giving away any more details than the dress. If you can figure it out, good for you! lol but I'm not telling!
Anyway, here is the dress!

I know it still fits her kinda loosely but she still has 4 months to grow into it. Its only big in the shoulder area, but it should fit fine by the end of June!
Anyway, I love it!
Well that's all for now, I've got nothing else to write about.

8 Months Old!!!

Maeve is 8 months old today...yesterday!! I was going to make this update yesterday but lost track of time...and well now it is today! I cannot believe she is already 8 months old! Time goes by way to quickly. Maeve can crawl now, very quickly I might add, she can pull herself up and stand with support. She now "walks" the edges of stuff, like along the coffee table or the couch. She can balance herself on just her knees and her favorite word for now is "Mama"...which she says a great deal...often to the point of annoyance...I hear Stewie in the back of my head..."mom, mom mommy, mama..." lol. Her favorite "toys" the door stoppers, the blurry player flap, and the plastic wrapping on the table..(which still is not repaired yet). As far as real toys go, she still loves her baby, and she likes to play with her  moving ball...can't think of a better name for it. She'll still jump like crazy in the jumparoo and she still loves her baby einstein tapes.
She is eating a lot more now, her favorites are still bell peppers...its pretty amazing watching her eat those. She also really likes yogurt...Dananino?sp to be exact. Loves them. She also really likes pork. Anytime I make it she is reaching and stretching until I put some on her plate. We are still working on learning how to use a sippy cup; she's got the "drinking" part down...but she hasn't quite figured out that she needs to tip it up so she can get the water.
She is making a lot more noises now, although growling and shrieking are still pretty constant. Overall she is a happy baby when she wants to be. lol.
Well...Happy 8 Months Maeve!!
